My favourite gadgets

Friends from now on I'd be discussing about the various gadgets, their specifications, their abilities and the limitations. This blog is just a result of my hobby of voraciously reading about the latest gadgets (mobiles specially).

Lets start with the much promoted mobile of Karbonn  i.e. Karbonn K 25:

Karbonn K 25
This device claims to have the following features:

  • Dual SIM
  • QWERTY Keypad
  • Optical trackpad
  • 2 MP Camera
  • Video Recording
  • FM Radio
  • Bluetooth A2DP
  • Expandable memory upto 8 GB
  • Social networking applications Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo Messenger and MSN
  • Opera Mini Browser
  • Torch Light

Lets now look its strengths and weaknesses:
Strengths
  1. Optical trackpad which makes the job of accessing the various on screen options easy.
  2. Qwerty keypad for ease in texting.
  3. Supports MP3 and MIDI formats and plays songs in the background
  4. Torch acting as a flash too
  5. 2 MP camera
  6. Opera mini preinstalled
  7. Motion Sensor which allows to change songs, pics etc on shaking and helps rotate the pics on rotating the mobile
  8. Has internal memory of 80 MB which can be upgraded with the help of card to 8 GB.
  9. Dual sim enabled
  10. 2.3 inch QVGA display
Weaknesses
  1. Talk time of only 4 hrs as 1000 MAh battery
  2. Only GPRS enabled and not having EDGE connectivity so slower internet browsing in big cities as compared to other mobiles having EDGE connectivity.
  3. No microprocessor chip so viewing movies undisturbed would be only a dream
  4. Average camera
  5. No dedicated sound chip as in some other comparable mobiles
  6. No woofers to have better sound reproduceability.

I still have to check about the voice quality of this phone in talking and playing music and probably the n the discussion would be complete. However I hope that the info would be of help before making any decision about investing money on this mobile.
